Ross Campbell submitted the following information in Jan 2002 regarding
Table Bowls in the City of Carlisle area of England (north west). There
are two leagues in the city which compete in regular competitions in the
winter months.They are a Thursday night league of mainly working men's
type clubs and one pub, and a second senior league or pensioners league.Below
I include the Thursday teams as of 2001/2002 season.

There are also three cups to play for during the year THE FAMOUS GROUSE,THE
CARLSBERG AND THE KNOCKOUT. Individual clubs also have competitions during
the year when trophies such as the Xmas handicap knockout at The Denton
Holme Club are competed for by that clubs own individual members in singles
and doubles modes.
